Final Degree-Bearing Transcript Requirement

The American Bar Association (ABA) requires that all incoming students submit a final degree-bearing undergraduate transcript. Failure to submit your final, degree-bearing transcript will prevent fall course registration and attendance at orientation.

If you have completed all baccalaureate degree requirements, but your degree will not be conferred until after July 1st, please notify the Office of Admissions at lawadmissions@syr.edu immediately to request an extension. Documentation from your undergraduate institution will be required.

All final transcripts must be sent through the Credential Assembly Service (CAS).

Note: the transcript submitted with your initial application via CAS will only satisfy this requirement if you had already graduated and the transcript indicates your degree date. Additionally, if you requested your transcript from your undergraduate institution with your final grades but before your degree/degree date was posted, this will not fulfill the transcript requirement.
