To be a profession-ready lawyer, you need experience. Learn how to apply doctrinal law while representing clients under the supervision of faculty-mentors via the College of Law’s clinic program.
Through close supervision and rigorous feedback, you’ll develop competence in law practice management and professional responsibility as well as a deeper understanding of substantive law. While providing a stellar educational experience as student attorneys, our clinics also provide much-needed, otherwise unavailable legal resources to the communities and people of Central New York.

The Office of Clinical Legal Education provides representation to individuals and groups in Syracuse and neighboring communities who cannot afford private attorneys or who cannot obtain other available legal assistance.

All criminal cases are assigned to our Clinic by the court and are not open for intakes through other referrals. Individuals in need of bankruptcy assistance should contact Legal Aid of Mid-New York at 877.777.6152 for eligibility screening.
The Office of Clinical Legal Education does not provide representation to current students or employees of Syracuse University. Undergraduate students may obtain assistance by contacting Student Legal Services at 315.443.4532.
