Jessica R. Murray 

Professor Jessica R. Murray is the Director of the Transactional Law Clinic. She previously served as Co-Director of the Community Development Law Clinic at the Law School and was also a Consulting Attorney on intellectual property issues in that Clinic.

Murray was previously in private practice in Rochester, NY, where she was a partner at several firms with a focus on business and intellectual property.

Murray’s interests include entrepreneurship, business and not-for-profit start-ups, and protection of intellectual property assets.

Murray is a member of the Board of Directors of the Thousand Islands Art Center (Clayton, NY). She is a member of the American Bar Association and a past member of the New York State Bar Association Intellectual Property Committee Executive Committee and the New York State Bar Association House of Delegates, the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys, and the International Trademark Association. She is a past chair of the Monroe County Bar Association Business Law Section and a former member of the Center for Youth Services (Rochester, NY) Board of Directors and Advisory Board, and of the Board of Directors of Causewave Community Partners (formerly The Advertising Council of Rochester). Murray was a recipient of the Rochester Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award and the Advertising Council of Rochester’s Lantern Award for outstanding volunteer service.

Murray received a B.A. in Government from Dartmouth College in 1985 and a J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1988.
