Nina I. Brown is an Associate Professor at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and a courtesy faculty member at the College of Law. She was named a Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professor of Teaching Excellence for 2025–2028, Syracuse University’s highest teaching honor. At Newhouse, she teaches advertising and public relations law, media and technology law, and other media law courses.

Brown’s scholarship examines legal questions at the intersection of emerging technology and the First Amendment, including artificial intelligence, copyright, defamation, and platform governance. Her work has been cited by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, state appellate courts, and the 2024 Economic Report of the President, among others. She has been an invited speaker at symposia hosted by Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, American University Washington College of Law, and Rutgers Law School.

Brown holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School and is admitted to practice in New York, where she worked as a litigation associate before moving into academia.
