Professor Rao brings a wealth of corporate practice experience to his teaching. He began his career at Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC as an associate attorney engaged in all phases of commercial, insurance, and employment litigation in state and federal courts. In 1998 he began his in-house counsel career with United Technologies Corporation, in their Carrier Corporation subsidiary. His initial position was as Attorney. He progressed up the ranks to Global Compliance Officer, Carrier World Headquarters, and eventually to become an Assistant General Counsel in the Building Systems and Services Business Unit. He subsequently moved to CONMED Corporation, a global medical technology company, where he served as its initial Global Compliance Director. He currently serves as the Associate General Counsel and Compliance Officer for PAR Technology Company, which provides point of sale and management technology solutions to restaurants and retail establishments; and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance solutions and mission systems support to the U.S. Government. Professor Rao is a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Antitrust Section, and locally serves as the President of the BSA Longhouse Council and the Vice President and General Counsel of the Hart & TayTrain Foundation, Inc.
