In her American Journal of Law and Equality article “Why Travel Inequality Matters”, True-Frost writes:

“Travel is not merely a discretionary leisure activity. For individuals with disabilities and their families, it can constitute a necessary precondition for accessing critical medical care, educational opportunities, community, and culture. It also serves as a profound assertion of presence and participation in public life. In this sense, the question is not merely whether people with disabilities can travel but whether they are permitted to inhabit space in the world on their own terms.”
