Second Year Ambassadors

Quinlyn A. Beaver

My name is Quinlyn Beaver (Quin)! I grew up right here in Upstate New York and received my undergraduate degree from Utica University where I majored in Political Science as a member of their Pre-Law Program. I am interested in pursuing Corporate Law and the position of Corporate Counsel for an organization involving one of my greatest passions: health, nutrition, and/or fitness. This past summer I worked for Syracuse University’s Department of Athletic Compliance and currently serve as the Treasurer of Corporate Law Society and Vice President of Operation Veteran Advocacy. The College of Law, being the most supportive community, has become like family to me. Please reach out with any questions; I would love to meet you and help with your journey to law school. Go Orange!

I have a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in political communication. I decided to come to Syracuse for law school because of its professional reputation and its commitment to creating opportunities for minority students. I am primarily interested in practicing national security law, but more recently, litigation!

Christine Decker

I am a nontraditional 2L at Syracuse University College of Law. I grew up in Central New York and received my B.S. degree in Nutrition Dietetics from the one and only Syracuse University and a postbaccalaureate in Business Law from Cornell University. I transferred to the College of Law because of its strong community, alumni network, and dedication to diversity and inclusion. The journey to law school isn’t always a straight line, and the Syracuse Law community can help guide you. I’d be happy to talk to you about my experiences, so feel free to reach out!

I chose Syracuse Law because of the atmosphere of Dineen Hall as well as the welcoming community. The faculty and staff truly want you to succeed and put you on the right path for your specified interests and goals. This year, I am currently an Editorial Member on Syracuse Law Review, and I am also the Secretary of Middle Eastern Law Students Association. I am happy to discuss my experience at the College of Law, as well as answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to reach out!

Nikita Norman

My name is Nikita Norman and I am a current 2L at Syracuse University College of Law. I’m from Eagle Bridge, NY and received my undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York College at Oneonta. I am interested in working in the field of civil litigation. I chose the College of Law because of the vast opportunities they give to their students not only while they are here, but as alumni as well. It’s truly a community here, which is really important to me as a first-generation law student. As a 2L, I am a current member of the Appellate Division of the Travis H.D. Lewin Advocacy Honor Society, a member of the College’s American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition team, and the secretary for the First Generation Law Students Association.

Gabrielle Reid

My name is Gabrielle Reid, and I am non-traditional student currently in my 2L year. I am originally from Rochester, New York. I attended Hampton University, a HBCU where I majored in Political Science on a Pre-Law Track. Prior to attending Syracuse Law, I worked as a Paralegal at a law firm and legal services organization for three years. I am also a mom to my daughter, Camille (5). I am interested in family and labor and employment law. I’d be happy to discuss my experiences at Syracuse Law and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to email me!

I am a second-year law student at Syracuse University College of Law in the 3+3 B.S./J.D. program and earned my bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. Syracuse University and the College of Law has allowed me to further my interest and experience in the corporate law field and am interested in working as an in-house lawyer in the future. I decided to become a Law Ambassador because I enjoys giving back to the Syracuse community and wants to provide other students with the guidance and support I received. Please feel free to reach out to me via email for any questions or concerns you may have regarding Syracuse Law.

Erin Shea

My name is Erin Shea and I’m a 2L here at Syracuse Law. I’m from Boston, Massachusetts. I studied Applied Sociology and Education at the University of Tampa. I intend to take the Florida BAR Exam upon my graduation in 2024. While I am always open to new career opportunities, I am most interested in pursuing Estate Planning. Overall, Syracuse Law was the right decision for me, and as an Ambassador, I’d like to show other aspiring lawyers what the College has to offer.
