Kathleen O’Connor served in the role of Senior Associate Dean of Online Education and Teaching Professor. Prior to her appointment, she was appointed the Associate Dean of Online Education in 2019, and the Executive Director for Online Education in June of 2016. Professor O’ Connor was a Legal Writing Professor for over fourteen years and served as Faculty Director for the Moot Court Honor Society and Advocacy from 2015 to 2018. She also served as Acting Director of the Legal Communication and Research Program during the Fall 2007 and Spring 2013 semesters. Professor O’Connor received the Meredith Teaching Recognition Award in 2008 for the 2007 – 2008 academic year for excellence in classroom teaching.
Before joining the College of Law in 2002, Professor O’Connor practiced criminal and civil litigation. Upon graduation from Emory University School of Law, she joined Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle LLP in Rochester, New York where her practice concentrated on commercial litigation. She then joined the criminal division at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of New York as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. Professor O’Connor then rejoined private practice with Hiscock & Barclay in Syracuse, New York.
