Marc A. Malfitano is a self employed attorney and real estate developer. His practice focuses on business matters, real estate, land use and environmental matters. He is a frequent lecturer on the subjects of land use, zoning and environmental matters for codes enforcement officers and professional engineers.

From October, 2003 through July, 2004 Mr. Malfitano was a development principal in Destiny USA Management LLC. He was responsible for the environmental due diligence, creation of legal structures for the various entities, negotiation of the state and local incentive programs and coordination of legal matters with the many outside counsel assisting in this project.

Prior to joining Destiny in the fall of 2003, Mr. Malfitano was associated with Pyramid Management Group, Inc. and The Pyramid Companies for over twenty-five years. The Pyramid organization is one of the largest privately held shopping mall developers in the country. He is a partner in a number of properties which have been developed by the company. During most of his tenure there he acted as General Counsel of the company. At various times he also held the titles of Director of Management and Operating Officer. Mr. Malfitano’s legal experience with the company grew out of his negotiation of hundreds of complex lease transactions and reciprocal easement agreements, his participation in and negotiation of the business and legal terms of over $2 Billion of financing transactions, the coordination of litigation and governmental affairs matters for the company, and the supervision of an in house staff of lawyers and paralegals.

Mr. Malfitano is member of Town of Onondaga, New York Planning Board since 1985 and has held the position of Chairman since 1989. He is a Member and former Chair (2008-2019) of the Syracuse University College of Law Board of Advisors. Since 1997, Mr. Malfitano has been an adjunct professor at the College of Law where he teaches commercial real estate and business matters.

Mr. Malfitano received a B.A. from Syracuse University in 1974 and a Juris Doctor degree from the Syracuse College of Law in 1977. He is admitted to the New York Bar.
