Erik Teifke serves as the First Assistant Public Defender and Training Coordinator at the Office of the Monroe County Public Defender where he has worked since 1995. He handles violent felony, drug, and homicide cases. He has created and delivered lectures and training programs for the Monroe County Bar Association, the Onondaga County Bar Association, the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the New York State Defender’s Association.

Teifke previously held the positions of Director of the Syracuse University College of Law’s Criminal Defense Clinic (2011-13, 2017) and Adjunct Professor at Monroe Community College (2013-15) and is currently a mentoring attorney with the Onondaga County Bar Association’s Assigned Counsel Program.
