Kristin Walker is a full-time Professor of Practice where she has been teaching since 2019. In this capacity, she teaches legal writing courses, including Transactional Drafting, and pretrial practice, including Advanced Litigation Skills, in both the JD Residential and JDInteractive programs. Additionally, Walker holds the title of Faculty Director of Externships for the College of Law, teaching seminar courses which accompany each student’s externship placement.  Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Walker was a full-time practitioner at the law firms of William Mattar Law Offices, Catalano Law and Alexander & Catalano where she practiced plaintiffs’ work.  Previously she practiced civil defense work at the law firms of Barclay Damon LLP and Costello, Cooney & Fearon PLLC.  Early in her career, she was an associate at McCarter & English LLP in the firm’s New York City office, where she practiced within the firm’s corporate, securities and financial institutions practice group.

Walker graduated cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law in 2008 where she served as Managing Editor of the Syracuse Law Review from 2007 to 2008. While in law school, she clerked for Judge David N. Hurd of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York and interned at the U.S. District Attorney’s Office. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Villanova University in 2002. 

Walker is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.  She is a current member of the American Bar Association and a former member of the New York State Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, and the Onondaga County Bar Association.
